Does anyone know if I can use the Maxiflash Pro to reflash a PCM on a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox? I bought a used PCM from the yard and took it to GM dealer and they told me that they could not rewrite the VIN with their tech2. From what I'm reading about using the Maxiflash pro it appears that this is not possible at this time also. Can anyone verify this?? -

You should be able to write the vin, but you will have to use the jbox ad a PC to program it thru GM's web site -

What is the website address? And I have to purchase the PCM programming from them I assume? Thanks in advance. -

Yes the tech2 alone does not write the vin number nor the vtd procedure, however they
could have connected it to a laptop and on tisweb or in their case global connect. And
they would have been able to do it for you. My guess they didn't want to. The equinox
is not a gds2 protocol until 2010. Regarding gm on autel is not available yet, scheduled
for the end of this year. For now gm flashing is only possible thru tisweb like the other
member said. -
